City slickers fancied for the title

Five of the 'big six' won their opening matches with the Gunners the notable exception. Here are the latest odds.

Manchester City made a statement of intent in Manuel Pellegrini’s first game in charge as Newcastle were dispatched by an emphatic 4-0 scoreline; the big spenders are nothing longer than 9/5 (Boylesports) for the title after the first round of matches.

Chelsea (23/10 PaddyPower) carried out a routine 2-0 triumph at home to Hull in Mourinho’s return, while David Moyes saw Man Utd (3/1 Skybet) cruise to a 4-1 victory at Swansea as he got comfortable in the hot-seat.

Liverpool (28/1 Betfred) and Tottenham (33/1 BetVictor) also opened up with three points apiece from 1-0 wins while Arsenal (20/1 Skybet) were the big disappointment as they stuttered to a shock 1-3 loss at home to Villa.
