City 1/9 For Top Four Finish

A 1-0 victory over Blackburn makes City heavy favourites to get that coveted Champions League spot.

It was Edin Dzeko’s first Premier League goal since his £27million transfer from Wolfsburg but he might have repaid the transfer fee in one fell swoop. His winner means that Man City are now four points ahead of fifth placed Tottenham, with a vastly superior goal difference.

The bookmakers think the result at Ewood Park could be the one that gets City into the Champions League; they are now 1/9 to finish in the top four. Spurs desperate to see their rival drop points are now 7/1.

Steve Kean had his own reasons to get a positive result, with his team mired in a relegation fight. Despite a battling display, his players were unable to find an equaliser and remain in 16th place. Rovers are 6/4 for the drop, shortened from the pre-game 7/4.
