Nigel Pearson returns to the Premier League after 4 years with a huge job on his hands. Roy Hodgson is working miracles on a budget at Palace while Blackburn are currently resurgent in the Championship.

We get bigger than 4/1 on the Eagles doing what they’ve done twice already this week, when they head to the Premier League’s basement club. Watford are banking on an immediate lift from Nigel Pearson sitting in the stands ahead of his first match in charge, but I’m not sure the 20th placed team should ever be favourites against the side in 7th. Hodgson’s boys are well-drilled and confidence is high again.
Blackburn to win to nil v Derby (h): (5/2)
We dip into the Championship for a mid-table clash nobody is talking about but odds don’t care about excitement. Rovers have momentum after 3 wins on the spin have carried them above their opponents, Derby, who unsurprisingly, are missing Lampard and Mount a lot. The Rams haven’t won away since the opening day and their last 4 road trips have all resulted in defeats without so much as a goal to savour.
