7th Apr 2021 | Championship
We're backing 3 form teams chasing promotion and one from the other end fighting for their lives, revived by a shock 5-0 win.
We have an 18/1 four-team Championship acca all kicking off at 3pm today. Norwich, Bournemouth, Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday carry our hopes with WilliamHill.
Barnsley (11/10) v Middlesbrough:
The Tykes are excellent dark horses for the play-offs this year after 10 wins since Valentine’s Day. They host a team with little realistic hope of the top six after a disastrous run of 1pt taken from 3 games. Neil Warnock doesn’t strike me as a man who will hide his disappointment and at this stage of his career, that could be bad news for Boro.
Bournemouth (4/6) v Coventry:
A good one to throw into an acca because Bournemouth look like home bankers here. Three wins on the bounce still seems them 7th but encouraged, with games in hand. That will keep them hungry, and although Coventry are equally incentivised down the other end, they haven’t won away since 2nd January.
Derby v Norwich (7/10):
Worried that Norwich are going to take their foot off the gas with promotion close? Well a 7-0 victory in midweek suggested we shouldn’t worry too much about that! Watford are keeping the Canaries honest and Derby’s Rooney bounce is a distant memory after 1 win in their last 9 outings.
QPR v Sheffield Wednesday (11/5):
The outsider that gives us a big acca price, but Wednesday had a stunner last time out. They began their home game with Cardiff rock bottom, but after 69 minutes they were 5-0 up. It ended that way, and this is a crucial chance to build on that momentum and keep survival hopes alive. QPR were well beaten at Forest last weekend and my have lost interest.
