Championship: Latest Promotion Betting

Several Championship sides are looking upwards.

The battle to reach the Premier League is poised to go right to the wire.

QPR’s 0-0 draw at home to Derby last night might suggest there are still a few nerves around Loftus Road, but with 83 points on the board and best odds of 1/200 to go up, they can afford to relax. The chasing pack however, have every reason to be anxious, with four teams only five points apart with four games remaining and only one other automatic promotion spot up for grabs.

Cardiff are the side currently in possession of the coveted second spot on 75 points and odds of 4/5 with StanJames to be in the Premiership come August. A home clash with QPR on Saturday will have all the other sides around them cheering on the league leaders. Norwich are just one point back and 10/11 to go up with Coral. The East-Anglian derby at Portman Road on Thursday has a lot riding on it.

Reading have stormed into contention off the back of an astounding eight consecutive league wins to reach 72 points. Less than two months ago they were 20/1 shots for promotion but the best price available now is 6/4. The final team still in with a realistic chance of automatic promotion are Swansea City, perched on 70 points. At 11/4 to go up they are slight outsiders but with four winnable fixtures remaining they could come close.

Final day drama looks all but assured in the race for the Premiership. For those that miss out on the top two, there are always the play-offs.
