Champions League Betting: Spurs To Draw

Van De Vaart a doubt

Spurs v Bremen Champions League Betting Tip

Tottenham host Werder Bremen tonight in the Champions League knowing a win will see them qualify with a game to spare, who thought that when the draw was made.

With all the talk of Tottenham as title contenders and coming off an excellent win in the north London derby; for the first time the season in the Champs League there is expectation they will win and win well.

I think this will work against them tonight, each time Spurs look like worthy favourites for a game they come unstuck, you only have to think back to the Bolton game where they were comprehensively beaten after that magnificent win against Inter.

The longest price on a Tottenham win is 1/2 with Boylesports. In a group of good teams where everyone can beat anyone does that suddenly sound like a bet worth taking? Add to that Van De Vaart and Bale, their best players, are injury doubts for tonight’s game and suddenly that 1/2 looks opposable.

The 13/2 on Werder Bremen winning is big but the Germans are without a win in their last five games, so that is swerved and the draw is the play. Unless Inter lose at home tonight two draws will be enough to see Spurs progress through the group, in that context and draw tonight wouldn’t be a disastrous result.
