The Real Deal

Madrid are having a domestic nightmare, 17pts behind Barcelona in La Liga, but this is their competition. In particular Ronaldo loves the Champions League and became the 1st player to score in every group stage game.

Apparently Cristiano Ronaldo is having a bad season. He’s scored 9 times in 6 Champions League outings and 7 times in his last 4 La Liga games. He’s clearly washed up!

On Wednesday night it’s Real Madrid v Paris St Germain, a game fit for a final at the last 16 stage and it will be fascinating to see if the holders can re-discover the form which has deserted them frequently in 2017-18.

It is true that Ronaldo has gone off the boil at times but he has a particular thirst for records in this competition and he’ll have one eye on beating the 17 he netted in 2013-14.

To do that his team will have to knock-out PSG and that will take some doing. But I’m still surprised to see Neymar and Cavani as slightly shorter prices to score than Ronaldo with some bookies.

PaddyPower offer a best price 7/5 on the Ballon D’Or winner finding the net anytime at the Bernabeu and that’s always going to be a bargain.
