City Can Buck Losing Trend

City Can Buck Losing Trend

The demise of the Premier League and Man City is exaggerated, they are still the best team in the English top flight and can win in Germany.

Man City started 2015-16 with five straight wins before losing three of their last four in all competitions. Borussia Monchengladbach began the campaign with five consecutive Bundesliga losses before succeeding in their last two.

But this should be the night when the impetus shifts again.

The English champions have travelled with Joe Hart, Yaya Toure and David Silva while Sergio Aguero is overdue to hit form. With most of his key men available, Pellegrini has the quality to earn a result here.

The hosts may appear to be back on form but wins over Augsburg and Stuttgart probably exaggerate the revival given that they sit 16th and 17th in the table.

Furthermore, the home defence continues to leak goals; 15 conceded in seven league games is relegation form while Sevilla struck three against the Germans in the Champions League.

That said a City clean sheet also looks unlikely given that Gladbach have scored in each of their last 15 continental home outings. The Blues allowed Spurs to find the net four times at the weekend and the continued absence of Vincent Kompany is keenly felt.
