Celtic v Juventus Tip

They may tend to capitulate on the road, but the Hoops are virtually unbeatable on big European nights at home.

Of all the statistics flying around before the Champions League resumes on Tuesday, perhaps one stands out. Celtic have only ever lost two home fixtures in the Champions League proper in 22 attempts - and they were both to mighty Barcelona.

Given that Messi and co were also put to the sword in Glasgow during this season’s group stages, there really is nobody for the Bhoys to fear on their own patch. Regardless of team news, the cauldron created at Celtic Park means that we have every reason to back Neil Lennon’s team to avoid defeat at best odds of 11/10 (Betfred) in the double chance market.

The SPL champions have in fact won 15 of their 22 home matches in the Champions League proper. However, Juventus are undeniably a class act and I’m happy to know that either a Celtic win or a draw pays out at better than evens money.
