Carling Cup: Semi-Final Betting

Wembley beckons

A trip to Wembley for a Cup Final appearance is now tantalisingly close for the final four.

It’s crunch time as we’ll learn which two sides will battle out the Carling Cup Final over the next 48 hours.

First up on Tuesday, Crystal Palace take a precarious 1-0 lead to the Cardiff City Stadium. The hosts are 3/4 (WilliamHill) to win over 90 minutes, but the draw would see the Eagles through at 13/5 (Skybet). The visitors are 9/2 (BetVictor) to secure another 90-minute triumph and reach Wembley in style. But that seems unlikely with the bookies seeing the tie on an absolute knife-edge. Cardiff are evens (PaddyPower) to qualify with Palace the narrowest of favourites at 10/11 (StanJames).

On Wednesday attention turns to the big guns of the Premier League as Manchester City try to pull back a 1-0 deficit at Anfield. Liverpool will reach the final with either a home victory (7/4 WilliamHill) or a draw (23/10 Betfred). Mancini’s table-toppers are 9/5 (WilliamHill) to set the cat among the pigeons by winning in 90-minutes. The Reds are expected to finish the job though; Dalglish’s side are 4/9 (BetVictor) to qualify with City at 2/1 (Bet365).

In the overall betting the top flight continues to dominate with Liverpool a best price of 4/6 (SkyBet) to lift the first major domestic trophy of the season. Man City are 5/2 (Boylesports), with Palace 10/1 (Coral) and Cardiff 11/1 (Sportingbet).
