Carling Cup Preview: Tuesday
Four of the biggest teams in the country clash in two ties that must be settled on the night.
Tuesday night is all about the clash of the titans in the League Cup as Chelsea entertain Liverpool while Manchester City head to Arsenal. Roberto Mancini’s side are 7/5 (VictorChandler) to win in 90 minutes and 3/1 (PaddyPower) for the trophy. The Gunners are 11/5 (Bluesquare) to do the business at the Emirates - again in normal time - and 7/1 (Coral) for the Carling Cup.
Kenny Dalglish’s side won at Stamford Bridge little over a week ago and they are 16/5 (Boylesports) to repeat the trick over 90 minutes, 15/2 (Coral) for the silverware. The Blues are 11/10 (VictorChandler) to win on Tuesday, and 5/1 (Bluesquare) to land Andre Villas-Boas his first major trophy in England.
Championship side Cardiff are 50/1 (Bet365) for Wembley glory but 13/10 (Boylesports) to beat Blackburn in Wales. Rovers are 11/5 (Coral) to claim the scalp on the night (without extra time or penalties) and 20/1 (StanJames) to go all the way.
