Capello Resigns: Next England Manager Odds

Capello: Unhappy with Terry decision

In a remarkable day the Tottenham boss was cleared of all charges in court before becoming heavily odds-on favourite for the England job.

Fabio Capello has walked away as manager of the England football team as the fallout from the John Terry saga took its most dramatic twist to date. Harry Rednkapp is hot favourite (1/2 PaddyPower) to become the nation’s next permanent boss. The Spurs man was only cleared of his tax evasion charges earlier on Wednesday afternoon.

There is also money going on Stuart Pearce - now a best price of 9/1 (WilliamHill) to make the step up from the U21s. Another candidate being backed is Guus Hiddink ; the former Chelsea boss is 12/1 with Sportingbet.

Jose Mourinho is 14/1 (Skybet) to succeed Capello, but the Real Madrid manager is more fancied to replace Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane. That’s just a 4/1 prospect with BetVictor.

Next Permanent England Manager: Stuart Pearce 9/1 with William Hill
