Benfica Can Cause Bayern Problems
Benfica created chances at the Allianz Arena and Bayern don’t need to win to progress.
Bayern Munich are 4/6 favourites to win in Portugal on Wednesday night but they don’t need to. Having won the first leg 1-0 a high scoring loss (by 1 goal) is sufficient to progress.
It almost goes without saying that Bayern are one of the strongest teams in Europe but they aren’t flawless. They were perilously close to going out against Juventus and Benfica had their chances (10 shots) a week ago.
Like their illustrious rivals, Benfica are enjoying a strong season, they lead the Primeira Liga and have won 18 of their last 20 matches in all competitions.
They are no pushovers at home and are a fair bet at 11/8 (Boylesports) in the double chance market. It’s a bet we can win and still see Bayern progress to the semi-finals.
