20th Oct 2015 | Championship

A Brum Deal

Bolton are 24th while their flying visitors are 4th. Yet the Trotters have somehow emerged as the favourites.

The bookies are often slow or reluctant to react to what the league tables tell us but it’s hard to see how Birmingham can be the 21/10 (Skybet) underdogs to beat bottom club Bolton in the Championship on Tuesday night.

The 2011 League Cup winners are enjoying a renaissance under Gary Rowett, only outside the automatic promotion positions on goal difference, having won their last three games.

The Blues have only conceded once in that run whereas the Trotters have conceded six times in two outings and are winless in five.

To cap it off, the visitors won this fixture 1-0 as recently as May so there really isn’t much reason to avoid the value.
