Australia shorten in ODI Series betting

Odds of Australia ODI series victory slashed after 54 run victory.

Australia are now best price 1/4 to win the seven match ODI series after victory in Hobart this morning. It was a disappointing defeat for England who at one stage had Australia at 142-8 however a sparkling 110 from Shaun Marsh assisted by Doug Bollinger (30) with whom he put on a record 92 for the ninth wicket stand, allowed Australian to set what looked a modest target of 230.

England would have been confident in chasing down the score but early wickets stymied their chance as they struggled to get any partnerships going. Bell and Trott top scored with 32 and some lower order resistance couldn’t stop England losing by 46 runs.

Bookmakers price up an Australia 5-2 series win as favourite with Coral going 2/1. Those predicting an Australia whitewash have seen the odds of that happening cut to 16/1 marking a quick turn around in Australian fortunes who could be backed at 100/1 before the series began to win 7-0.
