Wimbledon: Week Two Begins

Nadal is looking for a third title.

Both the Men and Women's Singles have reached the Round of 16 and the level of competition is getting high.

Andy Murray leads the billing on Centre Court in a repeat of his 2008 clash with Richard Gasquet. On that occasion the British number one looked down and out before clawing his way back from two sets down to win dramatically in five. The number four seed is 3/10 with Boylesports to progress this time while the Frenchman is a best price 11/4 with bet365.

Defending champion Rafa Nadal may face his toughest test yet against 24th seed against Juan Martin Del Potro. The bookies aren’t concerned for the Spaniard who is 1/5 with Coral; the 2009 US Open champion is as long as 21/5 with Boylesports. Roger Federer is the shortest price favourite of all at a best of just 1/33 with WilliamHill to beat outsider Mikhail Youzhny (16/1 Boylesports).

On the women’s side Venus Williams looks to be the most threatened of the big names as her opponent Tsvetana Pironkova is priced at just 2/1 with StanJames. The five-time champion is a more marginal favourite than most of the celebrated players today at 4/9 with Boylesports. Sister Serena is 2/7 with the same firm against Marion Bartoli who is 10/3 with skybet.
