Wimbledon Men’s Semi-Final Preview
We take a statistical look at the four players contesting the men’s semi-finals.
Forced to dig deep to win his quarter-final, Andy Murray is fortunate that he’s in the easier of the two semis. The world number two faces the big serving Jerzy Janowicz for a place in the Wimbledon final a match he should win at 2/9 (Ladbrokes).
Points Supremacy Per Set
The 22-year-old Pole has enjoyed a generous passage through Wimbledon, facing just one seed on his route to the semi-final and that was Nicolas Almagro (15) in round three. Despite the facile draw he has the lowest supremacy rating of the four semi-finalists.
The outright winner is more likely to come from the top-half of the draw and the match between Novak Djokovic and Juan-Martin Del Potro could be a classic. Neither player has dropped a set at Wimbledon, both crushing opponents en-route to the semis.
It is a difficult match to call but if fully fit, Del Potro might be the value in the outright market at 14/1 (Bet365).
