Murray Begins SW19 Campaign

Murray: 3 semis in a row here.

The Scot has had a rocky few weeks of preparation and faces a tough run of matches if he is to reach the latter stages again.

Andy Murray begins his latest Wimbledon quest on Tuesday with a potentially tricky clash with former world number three Nikolay Davydenko. The British number one is just 1/14 (BetVictor) to progress with the Russian a best price 12/1 (Bet365).

The draw has been less than kind to the Scot who faces potential banana skins at almost every stage if he is to progress far this year. If Murray overcomes Davydenko then he’s likely to face big-serving Ivo Karlovic in round two; the world number four is 11/1 (Skybet) to be knocked out at that stage.

But Murray tends to go deep into the second week at the All-England Club so some will already be looking further down the line. The 25-year-old is 11/2 (StanJames) to exit at the quarter-finals or 9/4 (PaddyPower) to lose a semi-final for the fourth year on the spin.

The Scot is 9/1 (PaddyPower) to finish as runner-up and a best price of 12/1 (StanJames) to finally break his Grand Slam duck on Centre Court.
