Murray 5/1 for Wimbledon Title

Federer hunts a seventh title

The great British hope goes into a semi-final on Centre Court as favourite this year.

We now know the semi-final line-ups for both the men and women’s singles at SW19. Unusually, in both competitions, the two favourites play each other in the final four with the bookies assuming the champions will come from those particular matches.

On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic is 8/11 (Ladbrokes) to retain his title with six-time champion Roger Federer (17/4 Sportingbet) stood in his immediate way.

Meanwhile, Andy Murray is just 1/2 (Bluesquare) to pass the semis for the first time, at the fourth attempt in a row. The Brit is now 5/1 (StanJames) to go all the way with Rafa Nadal not blocking his path at this stage for once.

Instead he faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The popular Frenchman is 2/1 (Sportingbet) to crush home homes yet again and 12/1 (Sportingbet) to win his first Grand Slam crown.

Serena Williams is a best price 23/20 (Bluesquare) to win a fifth Wimbledon, with her last four opponent Victoria Azarenka a 265/100 shot (Sportingbet) to add to her Australian Open title. The Belarusian was tipped up by our tennis expert at 9/1 prior to competition getting underway a fortnight ago.

Angelique Kerber (11/2 Boylesports) and Agnieszka Radwanska (7/1 PaddyPower) will also meet on Centre Court on Thursday.
