Bartoli 30/1 to win Wimbledon 2014
The bookies are sticking with their usual stance than lightning never strikes twice in the same place.
New Ladies Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli is being offered up at best odds of 30/1 (PaddyPower) to repeat her triumph on Centre Court next summer as the bookies put her success down as a freak occurrence.
The price could be seen as harsh on the 28-year-old who bossed the final against Sabine Lisicki 6-1 6-4 and became only the sixth player in the Open era to win the title without ever dropping a set.
Serena Williams is priced up as favourite at 13/8 with Skybet, with Maria Sharapova (5/1 Skybet) and Victoria Azarenka (13/2 PaddyPower) perceived as the other big threats.
