Wimbledon Tip: Williams v Radwanska

The Pole is having healthy problems

If the four-time champion performs to the levels she reached in the semi-final, this should be over very quickly.

The Ladies Wimbledon final was looking like a colossal mis-match even before it emerged that Agnieszka Radwanska is suffering from a respiratory illness.

The bookies are deterring bets on Serena Williams simply to win at best odds of just 1/6 (PaddyPower),  so we have to back the thrashing to get a little value. StanJames go best price 10/11 that the Pole, making her first appearance in a Grand Slam final, takes under 7.5 games in the match.

Given that the four-time champion is breaking serving records with regularity at the moment, it will rank as an achievement for Radwanska to get close to the eight games needed to scupper this particular wager.

Indeed, the 23-year-old only claimed eight games in total in the course of the two previous meetings between the finalists. With health problems to contend with as well now, Radwanska will surely be helpless to prevent Williams winning a 14th major at a canter.
