Murray warms up for US Open in Cincinnati

Murray has not been at his best

The British number one needs a good run with Flushing Meadows coming up.

Andy Murray will be looking to ramp up his preparations for the final Grand Slam of the year when he takes on David Nalbandian in his first match at the ATP Western and Southern Open on Wednesday. The British hope is just 3/10 to beat the Argentine who has slid down the world rankings, but an 8/1 shot with StanJames for the Cincinnati title. As always for a big Masters event, stood in his way are the best three players in the world.

Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is the 7/5 favourite with Boylesports as he continues his dominant 2011 form. He is seeded to meet Roger Federer in the semi-finals, although the 16-time Slam winner finds Juan Martin Del Potro blocking his immediate path. The Swiss star is 7/1 with PaddyPower to go all the way, while his opponent will see his odds sliced from 18/1 if he causes an upset.

Meanwhile, Murray’s tormentor-in-chief Rafa Nadal is a best price of 10/3 for the title with SkyBet. The two are seeded to meet in the final four yet again. The US Open begins in New York on 29 August.
