Jankovic v Stosur Tip

The Serbian has made the semis in Paris three times and has a 6-2 record against her opponent.

Former world number one Jelena Jankovic should probably be favourite to oust Sam Stosur (5/6 Coral) in round three, but instead lines up as marginal underdog at best odds of 23/20 with Boylesports. It looks like the value.

Jankovic leads the head-to-head battles between the pair 6-2 but the odds are probably largely based on current world rankings and a 2010 semi-final victory for the Australian at Roland Garros.

I don’t think a bad day at the office three years ago should be a major factor here though and the Serbian has enjoyed a decent 2013 up till now. The counter-punching Jankovic won her first title in three years in February and climbed back into the world’s top-20 after a run to the semi-finals at the Miami Masters. She also beat Stosur in straight sets as recently as April.

Jankovic arrives off the back of winning 12 consecutive games against Garbine Muguruza in round two so the three-time semi-finalist should be confident.
