Djokovic v Haas Tip 1

We're splitting our stake between the world number one taking this in four sets or five.

Novak Djokovic is on a mission to win the French Open. It was already his primary target for 2013 as triumph in Paris would complete his Grand Slam set. Now, having learned of the death of his former coach, his determination has been re-doubled.

The script would suggest his bid won’t end at the quarter-final stage, but at best odds of 1/8 (PaddyPower), backing the favourite simply to win is pointless. Instead I am going to recommend splitting your stake between Djokovic succeeding either 3-1 (14/5 Sportingbet) or 3-2 (9/1 WilliamHill).

The case for Tommy Haas winning at least a set is based primarily around the meetings between the pair up till now. The German won their last showdown 6-2 6-4 at the Miami Masters in March and only trails Djokovic 5-3 overall.

The 35-year-old is enjoying his best ever run at Roland Garros and should take this to four or five sets.
