Sri Lanka Dominate Top Batsman Betting

Cricket Top Batsman

The Sri Lankan batsmen are queuing up to overtake Jonathan Trott at the top of the market.

With a maximum of two games left per player the top batsman market is nearing the close. Top of the pile is Jonathan Trott, but with England out the tournament he has to sit and wait. At 10/1 the bookmakers are confident he will be overtaken.

Here are the leading runs scorers with top batsmen odds in bold.

IJL Trott (Eng) 422 runs: 10/1
TM Dilshan (SL) 394 runs: 12/5
SR Tendulkar (India) 379 runs: 11/4
KC Sangakkara (SL) 363 runs: 11/2
WU Tharanga (SL) 363 runs: 7/1
V Sehwag (India) 342 runs: 10/1
Yuvraj Singh (India) 341 runs: 14/1
LRPL Taylor (NZ) 288 runs: 100/1

The Sri Lankan opening pair of Dilshan and Tharanga were the big movers in the market after centuries against England. They were 16/1 and 25/1 chances before the match.

Overall the Sri Lankan batsmen hold sway as on paper their semi final is easier. Playing in the final is one extra game to get runs and that could prove crucial in a tight race for the Golden Bat.
