Latest Top Batsmen Betting

Almost midway through the tournament and the top batsman market is still open. We look at the latest movers.

With Sri Lanka thrashing Zimbabwe the Cricket World Cup has returned to form. The big eight nations are now just a 1/5 shot to all qualify for the quarter finals; they currently occupy the top four spots in both groups.

Apart from England yo-yoing in the betting, the top eight are in the order they started the tournament. Excluding games involving England, the tournament has seen several one sided games. It’s a case of as you were.

The early run-fest has kept the top batsmen market competitive, with eight players within 70 runs of each other. Below are the leading tournament run scorers with their country and games played in brackets.

Dilshan (5 SL) 283 runs: 10/1
Strauss (4 Eng) 280 runs: 13/2
De Villiers (3 SA) 266 runs: 7/2
Tharanga (5 SL) 258 runs: 12/1
Sehwag (4 India) 254 runs: 11/2
Sangakkara (5 SL) 252 runs: 12/1
Trott (4 Eng) 222 runs: 16/1
Tendulkar (4 India) 219 runs: 8/1

Note the number of games, the opposition and the venues the batsmen still have to play on. All these factors will have a bearing on the market.
