York Tips: Emirates Queen
The favourite looks dubious over this trip whereas Luca Cumani’s filly is proven at 12f and in form.
The betting market has excused The Fugue’s flop in the Eclipse after she scoped badly post-race but I’m reticent to be piling in at a short price in the 3.40 York. The trip of 12f isn’t her ideal distance, especially if they go a good gallop, and she was beaten when favourite in this race last year.
Emirates Queen is a significantly bigger price but proven over the trip and a better bet. She won a Group 2 contest at Haydock over the distance back in July and was not beaten far in France on her last start.
A decent gallop will suit her and she is still lightly raced enough to improve on her best efforts this season.
