York Tips: Angels Will Fall

Listed winner last season and although she’s struggled this year she could return to form after a break.

The 1.55 York is run over the unusual trip of 5f89y and that extra 89 yards could find a few out. Many in the field are out-and-out speedballs used to running over the minimum distance and their stamina could be on the wane approaching the line.

Angels Will Fall should be one of the horses finishing well as she’s run with credit over 5f and 6f during her career.

Last season I thought she was going to turn into a regular pattern-class performer especially after winning a fillies’ Listed race at Ayr. She was then unlucky when badly hampered in a Group 3 race at Newbury towards the end of the turf season.

Unfortunately we’ve not seen much of that ability in 2013. I might be that she’s just not as good any more, but she’s faced some stiff tasks this season, for example the King’s Stand proved too hot for her last time out.
As a result she’s dropped to a useful looking handicap mark and after a 64 day break she is an excellent bet if recapturing her best form.
