York: Boonie

Was a quick juvenile, third in Windsor Castle and appears to have trained on. Travelled strongly and put Nottingham race to bed in a matter of strides and runs consistently big speed figures.

I’ve been a big fan of Boonie for a while now and I was suitably impressed by his victorious reappearance at Nottingham. Travelling strongly from off the pace, he showed a devastating turn of foot to put the race to bed in what seemed like a matter of strides.

That form was franked by Mitbaahy winning next time and the time of the race was also good. It’s not a surprise given Boonie finished second in the Windsor Castle last season and has some big speed figures to his name.

The favourite looks artificially short based on his connections; his reappearance run at Navan was nothing special and all the value lies with Boonie.
