Wolverhampton Tip: Punjab Mail
First start since being gelded and also first outing for Ian Williams. Given a fair handicap mark on his juvenile form and plenty of reasons to think he has improved since then.
Punjab Mail is one of the least exposed horses in the line-up; he makes his handicap debut and his first start for Ian Williams. In short - there is plenty of upside.
On his last couple of starts for Charlie Hills he shaped with promise and both runs came with fair speed ratings for a two-year-old. The handicapper has given him an opening mark of 77 and that is where i’d place him on his juvenile form but he’s likely to have improved since then, both because of age and the gelding operation.
He has run well over 6f on a synthetic surface and is underrated by the layers.
