Lingfield Tip: Inaam

Hasn't raced over 6f since juvenile days but new trainer Paul D'Arcy has brought him back to his best. Fast finish earned him adjusted speed rating of 81 last time. Repeat would be plenty good enough.

The 2.20 Lingfield is a good race for the grade with plenty of last time out winners in the field. However, it is impossible to ignore the time figure Inaam put up last time.

All his wins have come over 7f or further; he’s not been sprinting since his juvenile days but it’s worth the risk. Last time out he was keen, behind a fair gallop but showed a blistering turn of foot to cover the final 2f, in 23.06s, quicker than anything else in the race by 0.38s.

His overall time was good for the grade but when you adjust for pace he earned a whopping speed rating of 81. The handicapper has bumped him up to 74 for that win but he’s scored off this sort of mark before.

At his best he won a class 4 handicap off 79 and he looks in that kind of form again. He’s not been with Paul D’Arcy very long but new connections have got him in peak condition.
