Wolverhampton Tip: Dougan
Not had the strong pace he needs on last two starts. Handicap mark not insurmountable and has good record at the track.
Dougan is a previous course and distance winner, in this grade and is backed to recover from some modest efforts of late. In fairness to the 6-year-old he’s not had the race run to suit. He enjoys closing from off a strong pace and didn’t get the gallop to aim at on his last two starts.
When racing at Wolverhampton below class 2 level, his record is 2218 and that eighth place finish is excusable from a wide draw.
Dougan is capable of winning of this sort of mark and although not in the same form as last winters, there is enough encouragement there.
