Wolverhampton Tip: Bowson Fred
Finished fourth in the race last year when well supported and has a 12lbs pull with Alsvinder for a 3.25 length beating. Shaped as if back in form when close third at Catterick on soft ground.
Bowson Fred is 4lbs below his last winning mark and returned to form when third at Catterick last month. The 6-year-old tried to make all from a wide draw but was just run out of it at the finish. The soft ground was probably his undoing and he’ll be better suited by a return to the all-weather at a track where his record over 5f is 122437.
Bowson Fred finished fourth in the race last year, 3.25 lengths behind Alsvinder, when sent off a favourite. However, he is 12lbs better off at the weights this time round and from a good draw he can pounce late and win.
