Wolverhampton: The Defiant

Undone by slow surface when second at Wolverhampton in August; 95% finishing speed meant horse finished tired but Kevin Stott generally rides this front-runner well and drawn to attack.

Drawn in stall 2 the tactics looks obvious for The Defiant. I suspect Kevin Stott is going to try and make all, similair to when finishing second with the horse over course and distance in August.

The one thing that needs to change is the judgement of pace. A finishing speed of 95% meant, The Defiant finished tired and his early exertions on a track riding standard to slow cost him the race. Synthetic tracks tend to ride quicker in the winter which is an obvious positive.

If The Defiant is challenged for the lead we can tear up our betting slips but he has a good record on the all-weather and his is the type of race he can win.
