Windsor Tips: Novellen Lad
Finished third in this race last year when it was a class 3 handicap. At his best early in the season on a sound surface.
The 3.20 Windsor is a downgrade of a race that appeared at the same meeting last year and I’m sticking with the same tip.
Novellen Lad finished third in this race when it was a class 3 handicap and thanks to his slide down the weights, he still qualifies for today’s reclassified class 4 handicap.
At his best on a firm surface, he should have conditions to suit. Six of his seven career wins have come in May and June and he is always better at the start of the season.
I’m therefore not concerned by his 231-day break and at 18/1 (Coral) he is the value in the race.
