Windsor Castle: Knebworth
Two from two on the all-weather with both wins producing excellent speed ratings. Latest effort impressive as wasn't 100% yet still quickened to win from unpromising position.
This doesn’t looks a particularly strong renewal of the Windsor Castle and i’m taken by the unbeaten Knebworth. Largely dismissed by the market because his two wins came on the all-weather but both produced good speed ratings, the latest where he showed a great turn of pace to quicken from rear in a steadily run contest.
Richard Hughes says he was sick after that race so to win when not 100% and in a fast time, gives us a glimpse of his potential. His lack of run on turf is a slight concern but we’ve seen all-weather horses run well at Ascot previously, thanks to its sandy composition. At the odds he is given a chance.
