Warwick Tip: Danzoe

Ran creditably from two wretched draws. Can capitalise from a falling handicap mark as a result.

Dropping to a career low mark, Danzoe has found a good opportunity in the 2.10 at Warwick. Racing at class six level for the first time, the four-year-old should enjoy the drop in grade.

A sliding handicap mark is often the sign of an out of form horse, but that isn’t the case with Danzoe. Last time out he finished an eye-catching fifth at Lingfield. Drawn in stall 2, he was racing against a strong draw bias yet still made good headway down the centre of the track; it was the best he could do from a terrible draw.

It’s the same excuse for his penultimate run at Sandown. Drawn in stall 15, he was again racing against a strong draw bias, finishing a highly creditable fourth under the circumstances.

Equally effective over five and six furlongs, he should have no problem with conditions at Warwick today. There should be no bias at the track and given a fair chance, he can prove he is better than a class six performer, at a healthy 14/1 with Betfred.
