Timeteam to Dig to Victory

Switch of yard and top jockey should spark a revival for this horse off a career low mark.

Timeteam is the most interesting contender in the 14.55 at Lingfield. Recently claimed out of the Gary Moore yard he makes his debut today for Alan Bailey. That is as a positive sign as the Newmarket trainer is having an excellent winter and is 5-27 in January.

You can ignore his last run which was over the ludicrous trip of 10 furlongs which is too far for this sprinter. The good news was he broke on terms which has always been the problem for this habitual slow starter. Regardless of his problems getting out the gates he has still managed to win 7 of his 45 races, a good strike rate for a moderate sprinter.

Most of his winning has been in sellers or claimers as a handicap mark in the 70s has always been beyond him. The handicapper has finally relented dropping him to 65 which qualifies him for this race at the top of the handicap. Jamie Spencer is on board and that is a massive plus as there aren’t many better jockeys around.

If he gets out the stalls ok, Timeteam can be dropped in from his wide draw and the predicted strong pace should play into his hands.
