Thirsk Tip: Groupie

All eyes will be on Royal Ascot but the best bet of the day comes in the 2.10 at Thirsk. Groupie finishing fifth over course and distance 15 days ago but she was desperately unlucky and in a very similair race she can make amends.

Last time she was held-up behind a steady gallop and despite still travelling best of all 2f from home, she had too much ground to make up on the leaders. Graham Lee never got serious on Groupie as his mount struggled for a gap, eventually finishing full of running in fifth. He closing sectional was the fastest in the race but she could have gone quicker granted a clear passage.

In defeat she earned a sectional adjusted rating of 71, much higher than her mark of 63. She has won on going rated ‘soft’ before and looks a great bet.
