Supreme Novices' Tip: Felix Desjy

Sixth in Champion Bumper at last year's Festival and written off too quickly after inconsistent season. Record hurdling at two-miles is 171 and won Supreme trial at Punchestown last time out.

The Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown has been a good trial of the Supreme over the years with Vautour and Douvan doing the double. This year’s renewal is easier to dismiss because of the inconsistent nature of it’s winner but don’t write off Felix Desjy too quickly.

Gordon Elliott gets his horses to peak for Cheltenham and the 25/1 on offer is big for a Grade Two winner. In his defence Felix Desjy was probably unsuited by 2m4f and will prefer the stronger gallop over a shorter distance, two of his wins the season have been at two-miles with one inexplicably poor run at Navan in the mix.

Last season he finished sixth in the Champion Bumper at the Festival, again he struggled to settle and a strongly run Supreme might play to his strengths.
