Southwell: Ustath
Won his last three starts on the Fibresand and simply better than rivals in this grade. Jockey takes off a handy 7lbs and there's still plenty of wins left in a horse who was rated 81, 18 months ago.
Ustath is 3/3 on the Fibresand and it pays to keep things simple in the 12.20 Southwell. The 4-year-old carriers a penalty into the race but that is largely offset by Tyler Heard’s 7lbs claim. The horse also has room for improvement, he was rated 81 at the start of the 2019 season and is potentially well-handicapped despite the weight on his back.
A winner over both 5f and 6f, he’s simply better than the horses racing in the grade. On his last outings Tyler Heard has eased down on his mount in a winning effort; notably watching the big screen rather than what’s around him. A mark (or effort) is being protecting and he’s not done winning yet.
