Southwell Tip: Moonraker
Three time winner over course and distance, all recorded in a higher grade. Chances scuppered the last two times by high draw, but no excuses now from stall 4.
I’m hoping it’s third time lucky for Moonraker and that he finally repays my faith. With three wins over course and distance, all in a higher grade, he has perfect conditions and must capitalise on a sliding handicap mark.
On his last two starts he’s finished ninth and fourth but i’ve underestimated the effect of the draw. Both times he’s had a high draw and raced near the stand’s side rail and away from the action. This time he is drawn in the thick of things in stall 4 and that should make the difference.
