Southwell Tip: Essenza
Has run two good races on the Fibresand and better than bare form last time out when tracking an overly strong pace over 7f. Shorter trip and better judged pace can produced dividends.
Essenza only has one win to her name but she is unexposed on the all-weather where her record is 215. Two of those performances came at Southwell (both defeats) but they created cause for optimism.
Last time out she tracked an overly strong pace and paid for it in the final furlong, with the 7f also being the limit of her stamina she faded. All things considered she ran well to finish fifth and could improve further with a more evenly judged ride over a furlong shorter.
A handicap mark of 58 looks generous and she should be winning on the all-weather very soon.
