Southwell Tip: Decision Maker
Still a maiden but has finished second twice over course and distance in better races. Trainer has a good record at the track and first time blinkers might make the difference.
Roy Bowring is a man to look out for at his local all-weather venue and the Nottinghamshire trainer has sent out 25 winners at Southwell over the past five seasons, with a respectable strike-rate of 15%.
Decision Maker is yet to win a race but he’s gone close on the Fibresand twice finishing second over 5f and recording fair speed ratings in defeat.
There is a danger he will need his first outing in 169 days but this is a poor race and he is lightly raced enough to have improved in the intervening period; he also has first time blinkers. He is well drawn in the centre of the track and could capitalise of a generous looking mark of 60.
