Scottish Grand National Tips: Bradley

Placed in graded company during the autumn despite ground being against him. Stays the trip and will enjoy quicker conditions.

The official going for the Scottish Grand National (3.50 Ayr) is ‘good to soft - good in places’; with a clear day and a stiff breeze forecast, the ground should be drying out all the time.

This is good news for Bradley, who needs good ground to be seen at his best.

Having started his career in hunter-chasers there are no stamina doubts with this nine-year-old. He’s won over 3m4f before and the further he goes the better.

He started the year by running a series of good races at Cheltenham, with the highlight being a second place in a Grade 3 handicap. It was an especially good result considering the soft ground was against him.

In seven chase starts on ground described as ‘good to soft’ or quicker he has finished 1221814.

The one downside to his form was being pulled-up at Warwick on his last start, but that was excusable because the ground was very testing.

The promising amateur Conor Shoemark takes the ride and with conditions to suit he rates a decent each-way bet at 16/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
