Sandown: Sir Benedict
Won twice on soft ground including over course and distance during his juvenile campaign. Used to running over a furlong further but that stamina will come into play given the heavy rain.
The going description for Sandown is currently soft but there has been significant rain at the Esher track and the ground will be testing. Sir Benedict is a two time winner on going rated ‘soft’ and his 6f stamina may come into play over the minimum trip.
Last time out at Hamilton he travelled strongly without ever quite getting to the leader but it was a good advertisement for his well being. Back in his juvenile season he was a course and distance winner on soft ground and there is every chance he repeats the trick off a competitive looking handicap mark.
