Salisbury Tip: Odyssa

Been running over a mile for most of the season but won at 6f as a juvenile and performed well when dropped back in trip at Ffos Las.

The 4.50 Salisbury is a Class 2 handicap in name only, with the top rated horse 10lbs below the handicap ceiling. This is is class 3/4 handicap in reality but with £13,690 to the winner there might be a bit of plotting going on.

Richard Hughes certainly knows the time of day and he had an interesting contender in Odyssa. She’s spent most of the the season running over a mile, including when a fast finisher at Glorious Goodwood.

A previous winner over 6f as a juvenile she returned to the trip at Ffos Las and although well beaten in second she finished ahead of Sweet Pursuit who is shorter in the betting.

George Rooke takes 7lbs off an already lightweight but given the pot on offer, this is seems a card played with purpose.
