Wokingham Tip: Pastoral Player
The archetypal Group horse in a handicap. He could be much better than this lot.
After his win at Newmarket, trainer Hughie Morrison suggested his charge was listed class at least. If that is the case then Pastoral Player could be well ahead of the handicapper. A progressive four-year-old he put in a taking performance when winning a class two handicap by two lengths. Travelling better than anything, he won the race in a time that backs up his trainer’s opinion.
He has now won his last two races and if he does become listed class then he might still be 10lbs ahead of the handicapper.
In last year’s Wokingham we saw Laddies Poker Two destroy a competitive field. Pastoral Player has a similar profile and is a horse you want on your side.
