Windsor Forest Stakes Tip: Music Show

Was the top three-year-old filly last year and any return to that level of form is good enough to win.

The 3.05 Windsor Forest Stakes is a fascinating race with some rapidly improving four-year-olds against more exposed horses. The main dangers are I’m A Dreamer and Seta. Low key campaigns were designed to give them time to mature but this is a big test for them.

At bigger odds, I am sticking with a horse who has already scaled the heights. There weren’t many better three-year-old fillies than Music Show last year. Winner of the Falmouth stakes, she beat all her same-sex rivals when taking the Group One contest. Later in the season there was an honourable defeat when three lengths behind Goldikova in the Prix Rothschild.

This season Mick Channon’s charge has been unspectacular. Beaten on her reappearance, she was said to be in need of the run. Next time she found 1m2f too far at York. On a quicker surface and at her optimal trip she should be given the chance to bounce back at 10/1.
