Queen Mary Tip: Little Kim

Won in good style on debut at Carlisle. Earned a sectional adjusted speed rating of 83 and sure to improve. This isn't the strongest Queen Mary and she is overpriced.

Karl Burke’s has his string in fine fettle and after Shine So Bright ran a big race in the Coventry i’m backing another of his underrated juveniles. Little Kim is an outsider for the Queen Mark (2.30 Ascot) but she impressed when winning on debut at Carlisle.

Despite looking understandably green, she quickened nicely to win in a good time. Taking into account her fast finish, I gave her an adjusted speed rating of 83 and although she will need to step up on that form this isn’t a strong renewal of the Queen Mary.

Wesley Ward has won this race three times but Chelsea Cloisters’s winning time at Keenland was much slower than his past winners of this race achieved and she is a short price in a big field. Carlisle might not be an obvious place for a Royal Ascot juvenile but that helps build the price.
